Francesca Zorzi was born in Bellinzona, Switzerland, in 1955.
After completing her studies at the art college (CSIA) in Lugano and exploring in different media, especially sculpture in marble and plaster, she enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Italy, were she obtained a masters degree in set design and costume design.

In 1990 she moved to Hong Kong and worked as a faux artist. Living there she became captivated by the ancient techniques of wall painting and began to experiment with drawing on plaster.

She then relocated to the United States. Since 2000 she has lived and worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Her work has been displayed worldwide and is a part of selected collections.
